• We always try to promote the role of Community Based Housing Associations and argue that they are a fantastic embodiment of community empowerment and community wealth building
  • We produce an Annual Charter Report (see under ‘Resources’) which – year on year – shows that CBHAs perform better on repairs and other key services to tenants than do larger, national housing associations and local authorities
  • We seek to influence how housing associations are regulated, aiming to ensure that the regulatory system does not – inadvertently or otherwise – place undue pressure on smaller, local associations to consider being taken over by a larger association when this is not necessary
  • We directly support associations facing difficulties by offering practical assistance through our volunteer Support Panel
  • Succession planning in terms of maintaining a strong governing body is critical for all housing associations. We regularly monitor how members are managing this, and wherever possible we highlight good practice in recruitment and retention of governing body members
