Glasgow and West of Scotland Forum of Housing Associations (GWSF) is the membership body for community based housing associations (CBHAs) in west central Scotland. Its main purpose is to promote, represent and campaign on behalf of CBHAs and to share information and best practice. As at September 2026, there are 68 member associations in GWSF.
Our main objectives
To promote the values and achievements of the community based housing movement
To promote information sharing and mutual support among community-owned housing organisations
To make the case for housing and regeneration policies that support our members' work
To facilitate partnership working between our members and external bodies such as local authorities on housing and regeneration
We do these things by
- Lobbying elected politicians
- Representing our members in discussions with a wide range of external bodies
- Contributing a community-owned housing perspective to policy discussions
- Developing our own policy ideas, often backed up by membership research
- Providing our members with briefings and information
