SUMMARY:GWSF Annual Regeneration Conference 2022
DESCRIPTION:We are delighted to announce our first in-person event since the start of the pandemic. \nOur summer regeneration conference will take place on 24th June at Reidvale Neighbourhood Centre\, and we look forward to welcoming both staff and committee members then. \nThe theme of this year’s conference is Community Wealth Building (CWB) and the potential contribution that CCHAs can make to this agenda. \nWe all know that individuals and communities throughout Scotland are reeling from the impacts of the pandemic in relation to increased poverty and inequality. We also know that the increase in the cost of living combined with the huge rise in fuel costs are further challenges which people will have to face. \nNow more than ever then\, it’s crucial to think about how we can do things differently as a society. The Scottish Government is committed to exploring the potential for Community Wealth Building (CWB) as an approach to delivering inclusive growth across Scotland. \nCWB is a people-centred approach to local economic development\, which redirects wealth back into the local economy\, and places control and benefits into the hands of local people. One of the key conduits for delivering CWB are Community Anchor Organizations and we know that CCHAs have been providing physical\, social and economic benefits in their communities for decades. Therefore\, we believe that this is where CCHAs fit in to the CWB agenda. \nThe conference will give delegates the opportunity to hear from key speakers; about the principles which underpin CWB\, and how it can work in practice. And our ever-popular café sessions will feature Forum members talking about their associations’ activities and projects which support CWB in their communities. \nMore details are included in the programme. \nBOOK A PLACE
