DESCRIPTION:CCHAs: still at the heart of place-making in their communities\nZOOM EVENT\nFriday\, 4th June\, 2021\, 9.30am – 2.00pm. \nThe last year has highlighted just how important ‘keeping it local’ has been in terms of swift and effective responses. For our members\, physical\, social and economic regeneration in their communities have always been closely intertwined. For over 40 years\, CCHAs have put their local communities’ assets and input at the heart of their place-making processes. \nOur summer regeneration conference\, this year in Zoom format\, will focus on CCHAs’ place-making work in and with their local communities. \nThe conference is always popular with both committee members and staff\, and with colleagues in other sectors. As usual\, delegates will hear from a great line-up of speakers on the day and also take part in café sessions\, where our members will showcase some of their innovative place-making projects. \nThe plenary sessions include: \n\nKeeping Scotland Beautiful\, with Katie Murray\, Communities and Place Manager at Keep Scotland Beautiful\nCreating Living Streets\, with Katharine Brough\, Head of Behaviour Change\, Cycling Scotland\, and Robert Weetman\, Technical Coordinator\, Scotland\, Living Streets\nWhy Place-making Matters\, with Ian Gilzean\, Chief Architect\, Planning and Architecture\, Scottish Government\nPlace-making in Castlemilk; looking back\, moving forward\, with Maureen Cope (MBE)\, Board Member\, Ardenglen HA\, and Anna Stuart (MBE)\, Board Member and Ambassador\, Cassiltoun HA\nMessages from the Midsteeple Quarter Project\, with Scott Mackay\, Executive Director\, Midsteeple Quarter\n\nFive Café Sessions about members’ place-making work include: \n\nAyrshire Housing – Place-making across Communities: Jim Whiston\, Director\, Ayrshire Housing\nEasthall Park Housing Cooperative – More than a Landlord: Claire McGraw\, Director\, and Brian McMahon\, Maintenance Manager\, Easthall Park HC\nGovan HA and Southside HA – Creating post-pandemic spaces: Ryan Davidson\, Govan HA Community Inclusion Officer\, on the Backcourt Improvement Programme/Feasibility Study\, and Pauline Fletcher\, Southside HA Community Initiatives Manager\, on Queensland Court and Gardens\nQueens Cross HA – Woodside Making Places Project: Alan Muir\, Investment Manager\, Queens Cross HA\nThenue HA/Blaeloch Community Land Ltd: Ruth Adam\, Community Regeneration Manager\, Thenue HA\, and Frank Soutar\, local resident and Chair\, Blaeloch Community Land Ltd\n\nMore details are included in the draft programme. \nBOOK A PLACE  \nCONFERENCE FEES: £45 – GWSF MEMBERS/£65 – NON-MEMBERS
