THE GWSF BOARD

Is made up of committee and staff from our member organisations

There are eight Board places for committee members, and four Board places for staff members.

Is elected by the GWSF membership

One-third of our Board member places are subject to election at the Annual General Meeting every year.

The Board's responsibilities include approving and monitoring GWSF’s strategic plans, affiliation fees and budgets; making sure the membership is well-informed about GWSF’s work; and ensuring GWSF meets all of its legal obligations and remains solvent.

Is accountable to the GWSF membership

The Board reports to monthly Open Meetings of the membership throughout the year, as well as more formally when the AGM is held.

GWSF has a small staff team consisting of Jim Harvey (Director) and Dr Colleen Rowan (Membership and Policy Officer).  

Jim and Colleen manage and co-ordinate all of GWSF’s day to day operations.  They play a lead role in much of our policy, campaigning and communications work. GWSF is a member-led body, so Jim and Colleen work closely with senior staff from member organisations ("Lead Members") who contribute their time and expertise on different policy areas and activities.
